Pioneer Dinner – The annual Jackson County History Center Pioneer Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Pewter Hall, 850 West Sweet Street, Brownstown. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 for two. There will be three families inducted as pioneer families and the Soldiers’ Joy String Band will perform. Reservations may be made by calling 812-358-2118 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Live music at the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Dave Campbell will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 112 East Second Street, Seymour.
Fear Fair – Fear Fair – Indiana’s Scariest Haunted House will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the house, 800 A Avenue, Seymour. Click here for tickets.

Christmas Bazaar – The Seymour First United Methodist Church Women’s will host the 20th annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, at the corner of Third and Ewing streets in Seymour. There will be clothing, crocheted and knitted items, Christmas decorations, crafts, jewelry and more. Food will be available for purchase. Proceeds go to local missions as well as Untied Methodist missions groups. Information: 812-522-1137.
Starve Hollow SRA Halloween Spooktacular – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will host its annual Halloween Spooktacular from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the campground in Vallonia. The event is open to the public, you do not have to camp overnight to attend. The day includes Sensory/Bump in the Night Program (11 a.m. Nature Center), Monster Munchies and Grab and Go craft (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Traffic Stops (3:30 to 6 p.m.), Trick or Treat and costume competition (4 to 6 p.m.), Haunted House (8 to 10 p.m.)
Learn to Skate – The city of Seymour Parks and Recreation Department will host a Learn to Skate class from 11 a.m. to noon at the Schurman-Grubb Memorial Skatepark at Shields Park. Isaiah Gambrel will host the class, and helmets are required. Register by calling 812-522-6420.
Seymour Smash Tennis Tournament – The Seymour Smash Tennis Tournament will be held October 22 and 23, at Seymour High School. There are multiple categories to enter and information can be requested by emailing shstennisparentsclub@gmail.com
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Princess Bride Trivia – The Jackson County Public Library will host a Princess Bride Trivia at 2 p.m. at the Seymour branch, 303 West Second Street, Seymour. Live music at Chateau de Pique – Tracy Thompson will play from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6163 North County Road 760E, Seymour.
Chili & Salsa Cook-off- The Crothersville Town Park Board will host a chili and salsa cook off at 5:30 p.m. at Bard Street Park. The entry fee is $10 and those who wish to participate should call town hall at 812-793-2311. It’s $5 to taste all entries, prizes will be awarded. The event includes a costume contest, games, and a game where for $2 you can have a chance to throw a pie in a police officer’s face. All proceeds will benefit Crothersville parks.
Live music at Poplar Street – Dwight Hendrix will play from 7 to 10 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Brownstown Brawl – Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the Brownstown Brawl wrestling match – featuring Supreme Wrestling – at 7:30 p.m. at Brownstown Central High School. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $15 for front row seating. There are family general admission packs available for $40 for four tickets. Tickets are available at the door.

Cougar Cruisers Cruise In – Trinity Lutheran High School will host the Cougar Cruisers Cruise In from noon to 4 p.m. in the school’s parking lot, 1 Trinity Way, Seymour. It’s free to enter and there will be a pork burger meal for $5. Door prizes will be drawn at 4 p.m.
NAMI Walk – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will host a NAMI walk from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gaiser Park in Seymour. Registration is not required. Click here to follow NAMI South Central Indiana on Facebook for updates.

Downtown Trick or Treat – Seymour Main Street will host its annual Downtown Trick or Treat where children can visit participating businesses who will hand out treats. There also will be a downtown parade and costume contest offered by the Seymour Evening Lions Club.
Tuesday, October 25
Pumpkin Painting – The Jackson County Public library will host a Pumpkin Painting event at 4:30 p.m. at the Seymour Branch, 303 West Second Street, Seymour. This event is open to grade Kindergarten through fifth grade. Click here to be added to the waiting list.
BINGO Night – The Delta Theta Tau Blingo Fundraiser will take place at 7 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and bingo participants will have a chance to win prizes from Ewing Unique Boutique, including purses and jewelry. There will be food, raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Wednesday Evening Rides – Join the Jackson County Bicycle Club for its Wednesday Evening Ride. The group will leave at 6 p.m. from Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street from the parking lot facing Westgate Road. This week’s ride is 10 miles.
