Thursday, August 1
Job Fair – Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation will host an Outdoor Job Fair from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. August 1, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour.
SICA Open Hours – The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will host its open hours from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. August 1, at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour.
Jackson County Watermelon Festival – The Jackson County Watermelon Festival will begin at 6 p.m. August 1, on the courthouse square in Brownstown. There will be food, drinks, craft vendors, and more. The music schedule includes Forrest Turner, Justyn Underwood, and Bryan Martin beginning at 6:15 p.m. The festival is free to attend, but Rock the Rind requires a ticket. Live music at Poplar Street – Doug Dillman will play at 7 p.m. August 1, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Friday, August 2
End of Summer Escape – The City of Seymour Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the annual End of Summer Escape at 11 a.m. August 2, at Shields Park, 600 North Broadway Street, Seymour. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, slide, bouncy houses, bubbles, and games. There also will be community resources & school supplies giveaways.

First Friday Dinner – The Knights of Columbus will host its First Friday Dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. August 2, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street, Seymour. The menu will include tenderloins, fish, cheeseburgers, and fries. Proceeds will go to the Parish Youth. This event is open to the public.
Live Music at Chateau de Pique – The Ang Trio will play at 6 p.m. August 2, at the winery, 6163 North County Road 760E, Seymour.
Live music at Poplar Street – Son of Maybill will play at 7 p.m. August 2, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Live music at Rails – Michael Staublin will play at 7 p.m. August 2, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.
Live music at The American Legion – Liquor Boxx will play at 8 p.m. August 2, at the Seymour American Legion, 402 West Second Street, Seymour.

Saturday, August 3
Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon August 3, in the Farmers Market Parking Lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Disc Dash – The Seymour Noon Lions Club will host the Disc Dash frisbee golf event at 10 a.m. August 3, at the Freeman Field Recreational Complex, 2476 State Road 11, Seymour. It’s $25 for early registration and $35 the day of. Information: 812-569-2754.
Bathe a Dog – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department K9 Control will host a Bathe A Dog volunteer opportunity at 10 a.m. August 3, at the county dog shelter, 150 East State Road 250, Brownstown. Info: 812-38-2141, option 4.
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 3. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.
Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 3, at the center, 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.
Hall of Fame Classic – The Northern Allstars 20th annual Hall of Fame Classic will start around 6 p.m. August 3, at the Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature Northern Allstars Super Late Models plus Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Crown Vics. Click here for tickets and more information.
Dinner on the Medora Covered Bridge – The 15th annual Dinner on the Medora Covered Bridge is at 6:30 p.m. August 3, at the bridge off State Road 235 in Medora. The night will include live music by Jerry & Amber Henson and more. Cedar Hill Catering will provide the meal. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Jackson County Visitor Center.’
