There’s a couple holiday celebrations in Jackson County over the next few days! There’s also quite a few fun things to do leading up to the Fourth of July! Happy Fourth of July from the Jackson County Visitor Center! We wish you a fun and safe time with family and friends.

Thursday, June 29
Food Truck & Music Night – Grub A Dub Dub and Sno Biz food trucks will be at the John Mellencamp mural from 4 to 8 p.m. June 29, for the Food Trucks & Live Music night. Music will be provided by This Old Guitar Music Store. This event is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mellencamp mural each Thursday in June.
Rock’N Ready Music Night – Jackson County United Way will host Rock’N Ready Music Night featuring the Bourbon Britches from 6 to 8 p.m. June 26, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. It’s $10 to enter with all proceeds going to provide free school supplies to Jackson County students in need. There also will be a raffle for prizes.
Friday, June 30
Liquor, Lager & Laughter – Buck Knawe will play from 5 to 7 p.m. and then comedian Jay Harris will take the stage June 30, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour. Get tickets at the winery.
Live music at Poplar Street – Brad Treadway will play at 7 p.m. June 30, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Taylor Swift Dance Party and Trivia at Harmony Park – The Brooklyn Pizza Company will host a Taylor Swift Dance Party and Trivia at 7 p.m. June 30, at Harmony Park next to the Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.
Live music at Rails – Soul Shine will play at 7 p.m. June 30, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.
Live music at the Eagles – Adam Sandlin will play at 7:30 p.m. June 30, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.
‘7 Minutes in Heaven’ – The Actors Community Theater of Seymour will present ‘7 Minutes in Heaven’ with shows at 7:30 p.m. June 30, July 1, July 7, and July 8, at the theater, 357 Tanger Blvd, Seymour. Click here for tickets.

Saturday, July 1
Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon July 1, at the farmers market parking lot off Walnut Street.
Disc Dash – The Seymour Noon Lions Club will host the Disc Dash at 10 a.m. July 1, at the Freeman Field Recreational Complex, 2476 North State Road 11, Seymour. It’s $25 if registered online at seymourin.recdesk.com/community/program by Friday or $35 on the day of the event; there also will be a vendor, a food truck and a lemonade stand set up along with raffles
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 1, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.
Medora Freedom Celebration – The Medora Pentecostal Church will host the Medora Freedom Celebration from 2 p.m. to dark at the Medora Town Park. The event will include food trucks, vendors, live entertainment, a touch-a-truck display, car show, military tribute (5 p.m.), kids games (6 to 8 p.m.), and fireworks. The fireworks will begin at dark and the event will conclude after. The rain date is scheduled for July 8.
Food Truck Saturday – Food Truck Saturday will be from 4 to 8 p.m. July 1, at Shields Park in Seymour. There will be music during the event with 10% or $50 of sales going (whichever is higher) to the Seymour Parks and Recreation Department for programming.
Born Free 40 – The Brownstown Speedway’s Born Free 40 will begin around 6 p.m. July 1, at the speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. This race will feature Super Late Models, Modified, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Hornets. Click here for tickets and information.

Live music at Poplar Street – Bad Medicine will play at 7 p.m. June 24, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Live music at Side Track’d – Dwight Hendrix will play at 7 to 10 p.m. July 1, at Side Track’d, 1115 West Spring Street, Brownstown.
Live music at Brewskie’s Downtown – Matt Trimnell will play from 7 to 10 p.m. July 1, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.

Seymour Fourth of July Celebration – The City of Seymour Parks & Recreation Department will offer its Fourth of July Celebration with activities planned from 2 to 10 p.m. July 4, at the Freeman Field Recreation Complex. The day will start at 2 p.m. with a Blind Draw Bash cornhole tournament ($10 per player), then at 7 p.m. the Fabulous Hickbillys will perform, and then fireworks synchronized with 92.7 Nash Icon at 10 p.m.
