One of Jackson County’s best traditions returns this weekend! Plus, there’s plenty of other fun for the whole family, so read through all the events Jackson County has to offer this weekend!

Thursday, June 13

SICA Open Hours – SICA will be open for regular hours, 1 to 6 p.m. June 13. There’s also the opportunity to work on art during the open hours. While there will be no formal instruction, this time will allow artists and those interested in art to gather and collaborate. For more information call or text 812-522-2278.

Grassy Fork VFD Truck & Tractor Pulls – Night 1 of the Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department Tractor Pulls will take place at 6 p.m. June 13, at the department, 5384 South County Road 450E, Brownstown. The event is free to attend.

Live music at Reed’s – Steve DeWeese will play at 7 p.m. June 13, at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, at 224 South Chestnut Street, Seymour.


Friday, June 14

Country Neighbors Spring Into Summer – The Country Neighbors Spring into Summer Home Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 14, at home-based businesses. Stop by the Jackson County Visitor Center for a brochure.

Elk’s Flag Day Ceremony – The Elks will have a Flag Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. June 14, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.

Saturday, June 15

Michael D. Healy Memorial – The Michael D. Healy Memorial Golf Outing will take place at 8 a.m.. & 1 p.m. June 15, at Shadowood Golf Course, 333 North Sandy Creek Drive, Seymour. Registration is at 7 a.m. and noon with lunch being served at noon. All proceeds benefit Trinity Cougar Athletics. Click here for information.

Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon, June 15, in the farmers market lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Airplane Ride Day – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will host Airplane Ride Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 15, at the Freeman Municipal Airport, 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. No reservations are required, and rides are available for a $25 donation to the museum. Those 5 and older are eligible for the rides.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 15, at 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. There will be children’s activities.

Mystic Moon Market Summer Fest – The Mystic Moon Market Summer Fest will take place from noon to 8 p.m. June 15, in downtown Seymour .There will be food, vendors, live music, and more.

Shieldstown Music Festival – The Sheildstown Music Festvial will take place at noon all day on June 15 & 16 at 1755 E County Road 300 N, Seymour. The festival will include music, food, vendors, chainsaw artist, face painting, camping, fishing, cornhole tournament, and more. The festival is in memory of Daniel White.

Brownstown Speedway – The Don Russ Memorial Pure Stock Special will take place June 15, at Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The Race will include Pure Stocks , ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Crown Vics, and Hornets.

Live music at Chateau de Pique – Brett Denney will play from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 15, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour.

Live music at Harmony Park – Brian Hopkins will play at 6 p.m. June 15, at Harmony Park, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Poplar Street – Matt Trimnell will play at 7 p.m. June 15, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

Live music at The Thirsty Sportsman – BA Blues will play at 9 p.m. June 15, at The Thirsty Sportsman, 205 North Armstrong Street, Crothersville.


Sunday, June 16

Shieldstown Music Festival – The Sheildstown Music Festvial will take place at noon all day on June 15 & 16 at 1755 E County Road 300 N, Seymour. The festival will include music, food, vendors, chainsaw artist, face painting, camping, fishing, cornhole tournament, and more. The festival is in memory of Daniel White.

Jeep Ride – The Flexin’ for Riley Jeep Ride will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 16, at Wal Mart Super Center, 1600 East Tipton Street, Seymour. It’s $20 per Jeep and will benefit Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. The event will include food trucks, children’s activities, prizes, ducks, and more.

Craft Time at Moxie – Moxie Coffee Company will host a free craft from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 4, at the coffee shop, 218 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The theme for the month is nature.

Open Mic at Brewkies Downtown – Michael Staublin will host Open Mic Night at 6:30 p.m. June 18, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.


Wednesday, June 19

Jackson County Bicycle Club – The Jackson County Bicycle Club will meet at 6 p.m. June 19 in the parking lot of Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street, Seymour. Visit the group’s Facebook group for all the details.
