Thursday, May 18
U.S. 50 Yard Sales – The Great U.S. 50 Yard Sales will be from Thursday, May 18 through Sunday, May 21. The garage sales are privately-held sales and there are no formal hours or locations.
Dine United – Schwatzer’s German Restaurant will participate in Dine United from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., May 18, at the restaurant, 113 Indianapolis Avenue, Seymour. 10% of sales during that time will be donated to Jackson County United Way.
Seymour City Jam – The first Seymour City Jam of the year will feature country music artist J.D. Shelburne at 6:30 p.m. May 18, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. This concert series is organized by Seymour Main Street. Food and drinks will be available beginning at 6 p.m. and there will be sponsor vendor tables with giveaways, sign ups and more. Bring your own lawn chair, all ages welcome.
Friday, May 19
Dine United – Townhouse Cafe will participate in Dine United from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19, at the restaurant, 206 East Fourth Street, Seymour. 10% of sales during that time will be donated to Jackson County United Way.

Live music at Chateau de Pique – Tracy Thompson Band will play from 6 to 9 p.m. May 19, at Chateau de Pique Winery & Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour.
Live music at Poplar Street – Fred & Steve will play at 7 p.m. May 19, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.
Live music at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery – Live music will play at 7 p.m. May 19, at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, in downtown Seymour.
Live music at the Eagles – Past Tense will play at 7:30 p.m. May 19, at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.

Pottery for Beginners – SICA will host Pottery for Beginners – Create from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 20, at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. There are three classes held on consecutive Saturdays including intro, create, and glazes. Message host Megan Pottschmidt through the SICA Facebook page to inquire. Limited space.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Appointments can be scheduled outside of public hours by calling 812-271-1821. For more information, visit the website.
Family Fishing Festival – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host a Family Fishing Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 20, at the refuge, 12985 East U.S. 50 Seymour. The event will include fly fishing and fly tying demonstrations, children’s games and crafts, fishing lessons (equipment provided), cane fishing pole making, and more.
Benefit ride – The Denise Bannister Benefit Ride will begin at noon May 20, at the Seymour VFW, 311 South Jackson Park Drive. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the cost is $15 for a single rider, $20 for a double rider, and $25 for a car lead. There will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and entertainment. Trinity United Methodist Church Meal – Trinity United Methodist Church will host its Free Meal for the Community from 5 to 7 p.m. May 20, at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. This month’s menu is Lasagna, Garlic Bread, and Brownies.
Brownstown Speedway – Race night at Brownstown is scheduled for May 20. This race will feature ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, Crown Vics. Click here for ticket information and the website.
