Our weekly Guide to the Weekend is back! It’s a holiday weekend in Jackson County, so be sure to check out all the fun ways you can enjoy your weekend. Happy Easter from the Jackson County Visitor Center!

Thursday, April 6

Food Truck & Music Night – Grub A Dub Dub and Sno Biz food trucks will be at the John Mellencamp mural from 4 to 8 p.m. for the Food Trucks & Live Music night. Music will be provided by This Old Guitar Music Store. This event is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Mellencamp mural each Thursday in April.


Friday, April 7

Live music at Side Track’d – Forrest Turner will play from 7 to 10 p.m. at Side Track’d, 1115 West Spring Street, Brownstown.

Live music at the Eagles – Gene Deer will play from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 112 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Meek’s Place – Matt Trimnell will play from 8 to 11 p.m. at Meek’s Bar & Grill, 2105 South County Road 750E, Seymour.


Saturday, April 8

Easter Egg Hunt – The Seymour Community Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Gaiser Park in Seymour. There is photo time with the Easter Bunny at 9 a.m. and the hunt will begin at 10 a.m. with four age groups including 0-12. Click here for a complete guide of Easter Egg Hunts in Jackson County.

Easter Egg Hunt – Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the Tom Judd Memorial Egg-stra Special Easter Egg Hunt for individuals with special needs at 10 a.m. at Emerson Elementary. Easter Egg Hunt – The First Baptist Church of Seymour will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at the church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour. The event includes music, the Easter story, photos with the Easter Bunny, door prizes, and refreshments. Bring your own basket. The Gospel will be shared in English and Spanish at the hunt. Easter Egg Hunt – Hoosier Christian Village will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at the facility, 601 North Sugar Street, Brownstown.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. If you cannot make it during those hours, you may schedule a tour by calling 812-271-1821.

Easter Egg Hunt – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. at the department off State Road 250 in Brownstown. There will be 8,000 eggs filled with prizes. Ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. Click here for a complete guide of Easter Egg Hunts in Jackson County.

Easter Egg Hunt – The Kurtz Church of the Nazarene will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. at the church. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and there will be a sack lunch.

Euchre Tournament – Join The Magic of Books and 1852 Café for a fun friendly Euchre tournament at 11:30 a.m. It’s $10 a person to enter. Teams are welcome. The team that wins the entire tournament will have their name, and team names displayed on our Euchre winners Plaque which will be displayed proudly in the store. Easter Egg Hunt – Community Church of Brownstown will host its Easter Egg Hunt at noon at the Jackson-Washington State Forest in Brownstown. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks and more. Click here for a complete guide of Easter Egg Hunts in Jackson County.

Easter Egg Hunt – Freetown Church of Christ will host its Easter Egg Hunt at noon at the church, 7077 North State Road 135, Freetown. The day will start with lunch at noon, then the hunt at 12:30 p.m. Lunch is free and open to the public. The hunt is for children infant-fifth grade. Information: 812-497-2971. Easter Egg Hunt – Freedom Fireworks will host its Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m., April 8, on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown. Age groups for 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. There will be 20,000 eggs filled with candy and toys. There will be a drawing for bicycles for a boy and girl in each age group. There also will be more than 100 prizes to giveaway. Live music at Chateau de Pique – Buck Knawe will play from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chateau de Pique Winery and Brewery, 6361 North County Road 760E, Seymour. Stag’s Mobile Kitchen also will be there for the event.

Race Night at Brownstown Speedway –  This week’s race at Brownstown Speedway will feature Super Late Models, ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets. Click here for the website for all details and tickets.

Karaoke at Side Track’d – Ladies Night Karaoke will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at Side Track’d, 1115 West Spring Street, Brownstown.

Live Music at The Thirsty Sportsman – The Dirt Road Band will play at 9 p.m. at The Thirsty Sportsman, 205 North Armstrong Street, Crothersville.

Tuesday, April 11

Trivia Night – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host trivia night at 6:30 p.m. at Pizza Palace, 832 West Tipton Street, Seymour.

German Language Class –  Learn German at Schwatzer’s German Restaurant in downtown Seymour. It’s $5 per session and goes through April.

Small Town Bingo – The Phi Beta Psi Small Town Bingo will be at 7 p.m at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour. The doors open at 6 p.m. and it’s $25 to attend with all proceeds going to cancer research. You must be 18 to participate.


Wednesday, April 12

Nature Time Pre-School Event – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host its monthly Pre-School Nature Time Program at 9:30 a.m. at the refuge visitor center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. Each month is a different theme and registration is not required. All little ones welcome.

Live Music at the Seymour Brewing Co. – Arianna & Anna will play at 6 p.m. at the Seymour Brewing Company, 725 West Second Street, Seymour.
