Tuesday, September 17

Craft Time – Moxie Coffee Company will host a free craft from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. September 17, at the coffee shop, 218 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The theme for the month is Fall Fun.


Wednesday, September 18

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 9 a.m. to noon September 18, in the Farmers Market Parking Lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Bicycle Club – The Jackson County Bicycle Club will meet at 6 p.m. September 18, in the parking lot of Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street, Seymour. Visit the group’s Facebook group for all the details.

Live music at Harmony Park – Rich Hampton will play at 6:30 p.m. September 18, at Harmony Park outside The Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.


Thursday, September 19

Kid’s Fall Safety Fest – The Seymour Police Department & FOP Lodge 108 will host the Kid’s Fall Safety Fest from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. September 19, in the Robertson Feed Mill Parking Lot (across from Farmers Market) on Walnut Street in Seymour. The event will include games, education, free car seat inspections, and other resources from 18 vendors. The event is held in conjunction with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Automotive Safety Program & Schneck Medical Center.

Trivia Night – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host the Trivia Tournament of Champions at 6 p.m. September 19, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Seymour City Jam – BlackJack Davey will play the Seymour Main Street Seymour City Jam at 6:30 p.m. September 19, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. Sponsors will be set up at 6 p.m. and adult beverages and food will begin at 6 p.m. Free to attend.


Friday, September 20

Live music at Harmony Park – Chris Kelly will play at 6:30 p.m. September 20, at Harmony Park outside The Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at Rails – Matt Trimnel will play at 7 p.m. September 20, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at Poplar Street – Steve Houk Band will play at 7 p.m. September 20, at Poplar Street Restaurant, 513 South Poplar Street, Seymour.

‘Death of a Salesman’ – The Jackson County Community Theater will present ‘Death of a Salesman’ at 7:30 p.m. September 20, at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 West Walnut Street, Brownstown. There also will be a 2:30 p.m. Matinee on September 15. Click here for tickets.


Saturday, September 21

Fall Pop Up Market – Anytime Florals & Gifts will host a Fall Pop Up Market from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. September 21, at the store, 310 East Commerce Street, Brownstown. The market will feature vendors: Chic Boutique, Sugar Junkie, Artistic Soul, Twisted Knot Creations, Backroad Unique, 250 Grill, and Modern Grace.

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 9 a.m. to noon September 21, in the Farmers Market Parking Lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 21. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

FestABILITY – The Arc of Jackson County will host the Jackson County FestABILITY from 10 a.m. to noon, September 14, at the Boys& Girls Club of Seymour, 950North O’Brien Street, Seymour. The event is for special needs school-aged children and their families. There will be activities including face painting, coloring, play-doh, therapy dogs, music, and more. There also will be resources and information for families available.

Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 21, at the center, 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Kilnfest – Kilnfest will be from noon to midnight, September 21, at the former Medora Brick Plant. The festival will include live music, food, flea market, crafts, kids games, live auction, and more. All proceeds go to help restore the historic kilns and smoke stacks.

Mystic Moon Fall Festival – The Mystic Moon Fall Festival is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m. September 21, in downtown Seymour. The festival will include handmade art, music, food trucks, and feature small businesses in downtown Seymour.

Harvest Festival – Trinity United Methodist Church will host its annual Harvest Festival from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. September 21, at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The event will include a free community meal, music, games, and more.

Hamilton Township VFD Chicken Dinner – The Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual chicken dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. September 21, at the department, 6843 North County Road 400E, Seymour. The dinner will include a choice of chicken or pork burger meal with sides.

Schaefer Photo & Custom Designs Night – The Schaefer Photo & Custom Designs Night will start around 6 p.m. September 21, at the Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. Click here for tickets and more information.

NAMI Walk – The National Alliance on Mental Illness will conduct an awareness walk at 2 p.m. September 22, at Shields Park in Seymour. There will be a DJ, food, and information at the shelter house before and after the walk. Click here to sign up or get more information.


Tuesday, September 24

Classic Car Parade – The Lutheran Community Home will host a Classic Car Parade at 10 a.m. September 24, at the facility, 111 Church Avenue, Seymour. The cars will meet at Zion Lutheran Church in the north parking lot to line up.

Castrol FloRacing Night in America – The Castrol FloRacing Night in America will start around 6 p.m. September 25 at the Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. Bingo Fundraiser – READ Jackson County will host its third annual Prize Bingo Fundraiser at 6 p.m. September 26, at The Moose Lodge, 110 East Sixth Street, Seymour. The event will include Bingo, 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, and more. Momma T’s Food Truck will be available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds go to the organization’s literacy programs. Mixology Class – Rails Craft Brew & Eatery will host a Mixology Class at 6 p.m. September 26, at the restaurant, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour. Bartender Shelby will be walking the group through three cocktail recipes including spiced apple rum punch, cranberry cobbler smash, and an apple cider mimosa. Registration can be completed by contacting the restaurant.


Friday, September 27

Hen & Chicks Barn Market – The Hen and Chicks Barn Market is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. September 27, at the Three Bin Farm, 5602 East County Road 100N, Seymour. There are more than 70 vendors, food, entertainment, and more. It’s $5 to enter. Learn by visiting their website.

Race Night – The CJ Rayburn Memorial & Bowman Family 50 will start around 6 p.m. September 27, at the Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with $10,000 to win. Click here for tickets and more information.

National Public Lands Day – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host the National Public Lands Day Clean Up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 28, at the refuge, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour.

Hoods & Horses Car Show – Swifty Events will host the Hoods & Horses car show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 28, at Swifty Farm, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Registration will be available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Trophies, dash plaques, silent auctions, door prizes, preregister $20 day of show $25. Food and beer will be available as well as other vendors. Portion of proceeds will go to Anchor House.

Spaghetti Dinner – The Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Spaghetti Dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. September 28, at the station, 2114 High Street, Seymour. Meal includes spaghetti, breadstick, cookie/brownie, and a drink.
