Festival of Trees – The Jackson County History Center’s Festival of Trees will be open from noon to 8 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from December 1-December 23, at the center’s Livery Barn, 105 North Sugar Street, Brownstown. This year’s theme is gnomes, so be sure to check out all the entries and vote for your favorite.
Medora Christmas Tree Lighting – The Medora Community Christmas Tree Lighting will take place around 6 p.m. at the library in Medora. There will be caroling, hot chocolate, and cookies as well.
‘The Game’s Afoot’ – Jackson County Community Theatre will present ‘The Game’s Afoot’ with shows at 7:30 p.m. December 1, 2, 8, 9, and a 2:30 p.m. matinee December 3, at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown. Purchase tickets by clicking here.
Saturday, December 2
Medora Christmas Parade & Festival – The 51st annual Medora Christmas Parade & Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Medora. The festival will include food, vendors, entertainment, a parade, visit from Santa, and the annual Christmas Ball! Don’t miss out!
Hamacher Hall – Hamacher Hall will host its Christmas event from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. December 2, at the historic building, 211 East Howard Street, Crothersville. There will be a biscuits and gravy breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon, craft show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., cookies with Santa Claus at 6 p.m., crafts, auction at 7 p.m., and so much more.
Cookie Walk – The Immanuel Guild at Immanuel Lutheran Church will host its annual Cookie Walk at 9 a.m. December 2, in the church’s Fellowship Hall, 605 South Walnut Street, Seymour. For $15 a box, participants can walk through and fill the box with an assortment of homemade cookies. Information: 812-522-5498.
Small Town Christmas Market – The Small Town Christmas Market is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 2, at the Knights of Columbus in Seymour. There will be multiple vendors, breakfast, lunch, and a guest appearance from Santa and The Grinch.
Radio Auction – WZZB The Buzz will host its annual Holiday Auction at 9 a.m. December 2, on the air. Tune into 99.2 FM WZZB to hear all the items up for auction. This fun holiday tradition will give you the opportunity to buy a gift for someone or even yourself.
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 2, at 1035 A Avenue, Seymour.
Seymour Museum Center – The Seymour Museum Center will be open for its regular hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 2, at 220 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.

Pictures with Santa – Phi Beta Psi will host Pictures with Santa from 2 to 4 p.m. December 2, at Harmony Park, 700 Maple Avenue, Seymour. A portion of sales from Brooklyn Pizza Company will support the cause. All proceeds go to cancer research.
Christmas at Crossroads – The Jackson County Chamber will host Christmas at Crossroads at 6 p.m. December 2, at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. The event will include live reindeer, caroling, a visit from Santa Claus, and the community Christmas Tree lighting.

The event will feature a visit from Santa Claus, treats, the Brownstown Central High School choir, and more, all in the historic Jackson County Courthouse.

Christmas on Chestnut – Seymour Main Street will host the first-ever Christmas on Chestnut from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. December 9, in downtown Seymour! The event is a children’s sip n’ stroll with various locations downtown. The activities include story time, ornament decorating, a cookie and hot chocolate pit stop, pictures with Sammy the Saver and Santa, and more! Click here for tickets.
Euchre Tournament – The Pershing Township Lions Club will host its Euchre Tournament and Soup Supper beginning at 4:30 p.m. December 9, at the Senior Citizens Center, 6807 North Union Street, Freetown. Serving for the meal will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the tournament will begin at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 for the meal and $5 for the tournament.
Mixology – The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department will host its Winter Mixology Class from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, in downtown Seymour. Those who attend will learn how to mix classic and fun cocktails. Tickets are $35 and are limited to 50 registrants. Kids Christmas Festival – Seymour Christian Church will host the Kids’ Christmas Festival from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. December 9, at the church, 915 Kasting Road, Seymour. The day will feature crafts, face painting, raffles, wagon rides, sand art, pictures with Santa, and a Christmas craft and gift booths.
Christmas at the Campground – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will host the second Christmas at the Campground from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. December 9, at the Vallonia property. Campsites will be decorated with Christmas lights and decorations, and families can drive through the campground to view them during the event. There’s a suggested $5 donation to help fund the event in the future. The event also will include a craft, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa Claus. Information: 812-358-3464.

Concert – The Cortland Christian Church will host a soup supper and music night at 5:30 p.m. December 10, at the church. The soup supper will being at 5:30 p.m. and Thomas Shelton will perform at 6:30 p.m.
Advent Christmas Concert – The Advent Christmas Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. December 10, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 325 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The program will be an hour long and feature multiple instrumentalists and Soprano Donata Cucinotta. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the church’s parish office.

Nature Time Pre School – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host Nature Time for Pre Schoolers at 9:30 a.m. December 13, in the Refuge’s visitor center. There’s a themed story, craft, and more. No registration required.

The event will feature a live Nativity scene, Christmas stories by Angel Deb Bedwell, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a train display, antique toy display, and treats. The event is free to attend.
Community Meal – Trinity United Methodist Church will host its Free Meal for the Community from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. This month’s menu is Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Brownies/Cookie
A Christmas Convoy – The ARC of Jackson County will host A Christmas Convoy at 5 p.m. December 16, in Seymour. The Convoy will be made up of participants in the Southern Indiana Truck Convoy.
Christmas Parade of Lights & Fireworks – The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department will host the Christmas Lights Parade & Fireworks at 5:30 p.m. December 16, in downtown Seymour. Following the parade there will be fireworks let off from the B&O Parking Lot behind the Knights of Columbus. It’s free to enter the parade, but all entries must incorporate Christmas lights. Cookies & Cocoa with Santa – The Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department will host Cookies & Cocoa with Santa at 6 p.m. December 16, at the station, 6843 North County Road 400E, Seymour.

Brunch with Santa – Pewter Hall will host Brunch Buffett with Santa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 17, at Pewter Hall, 850 West Spring Street, Brownstown. It’s $20 per adult, and $15 for children (3 and under free), and will include brunch, a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, and an appearance by The Grinch.
