We’re back at it! The calendar has filled up with all sorts of fun, and we’re geared up for a fun 2025! The Jackson County Visitor Center has all the events listed right here for you to plan your fun for the whole month!

Tuesday, April 1

Open Mic Night – Brooklyn Pizza Company will host Open Mic Night at 6 p.m. April 1, at Harmony Park outside The Brooklyn Pizza Company & Seymour Brewing Company. It’s also the restaurant’s 19th anniversary.

Trivia – Patty Brother’s Entertainment will host Themed Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m. April 1, at Brewskie’s Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.


Wednesday, April 2

Beer & Food Pairing – The Jackson County German Club will host a Food & Beer Pairing at 6:30 p.m. April 2, at Schwätzer’s German Restaurant, 113 Indianapolis Avenue, Seymour. The pairing will include six samples of beer paired with a corresponding German dish. It’s $50 per person, and can be paid at Schwätzer’s German Restaurant during business hours. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Chasing Bubbles Foundation, and the first 20 paid reservations will include a free tasting glass.


Thursday, April 3

Open Mic Night – Michael Staublin will host Open Mic Night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 3, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour. It’s free to join and open to anyone.

Music Bingo – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Music Bingo at 6 p.m. April 3, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.


Friday, April 4

Jackson County Walking Pals – The Jackson County Walking Pals will meet at 6 p.m. April 4, at the Jackson-Washington State Forest in Brownstown. The group walks at a steady pace for an hour with their dogs. The group will meet at the Shelterhouse.

Bingo Night – Zion Lutheran Church Senior Youth will host Bingo Night at 6:30 p.m. April 4, at the church, 1501 Gaiser Drive, Seymour. Tickets are $30 at the door. To reserve a spot, email zlcyouthboard@gmail.com. Proceeds will benefit the Senior Youth Group’s trip to the National Youth Gathering.

Live music at the Brooklyn Pizza Co. – Bomar and Ritter will perform at 6:30 p.m. April 4, at The Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at the Bearded Hobo –  Mike Staublin will play at 7 p.m. April 4, at The Bearded Hobo, 1029 West Commerce Street, Brownstown.

Wrestling – Supreme Wrestling will present the Seymour Stampede wrestling match at 7:30 p.m. April 4, at Jackson Live & Event Center, 981 C Avenue East, Seymour. It’s $10 per ticket and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the match beginning at 7:30 p.m. Click here for tickets.


Saturday, April 5

Pancake Breakfast – Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 526 will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 5, at the Seymour VFW, 311 South Jackson Park Drive, Seymour. The breakfast will include 2 pancakes, sausage, and a drink. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 North Broadway Street, Seymour. The center is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The scouts’ pinewood derby will follow the breakfast.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Presentation – The Jackson County Public Library will host a presentation of the 80th anniversary of the Freeman Field Mutiny at 2 p.m. April 5, at the location in Seymour, 303 West Second Street, Seymour. Larry Bothe, curator of the Freeman Army Airfield Museum, will lead the presentation. The event is limited to 50, and registration is required by 4/3. Register by calling 812-522-3412.

Meet & Greet – YouTube’s Stuff & Whiskey will be available for a public meet and greet at 3 p.m. April 5, at Vick’s Liquor Store, 400 East Tipton Street, Seymour.

Crossroads of Culture – Crossroads of Cultures is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 5, at Seymour Middle School, 920 North O’Brien Street, Seymour. The event will include food, music, and learning about cultures in the community.

Ira Bastin Memorial – The 3rd annual Ira Bastin Memorial will begin at 6 p.m. April 5, at Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will include Northern All-Stars Super Late Models plus Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Crown Vics, and Hornets. Click here for information.

Bourbon Pour – The 3rd annual Seymour Main Street Bourbon Pour is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 5, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street, Seymour. The evening will include dinner, a blind tasting of multiple Bourbons, silent auction, a brief presentation by Bill Bryden, and YouTube’s Stuff & Whiskey. Live music at Jackson Live – Joanna Hackney will perform at 7 p.m. April 5, at Jackson Live & Events Center, 981 C Avenue, Seymour. Tickets are available at the door.

Live music at the Bearded Hobo – Joe D’Amato, Piano Joe, will perform at 7 p.m. April 5, at The Bearded Hobo, 1029 West Commerce Street, Brownstown. He will play classic music from Elton John and Billy Joel.


Tuesday, April 8

Open Mic Night – Brooklyn Pizza Company will host Open Mic Night at 6 p.m. April 8, at Harmony Park outside The Brooklyn Pizza Company & Seymour Brewing Company.

Small Town Bingo – The Phi Beta Psi Small Town Bingo will be held at 7 p.m. April 8, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 122 East Second Street. It’s $25 for a ticket, and all proceeds go to cancer research. Doors open at 6 p.m. Message Phi Beta Psi on Facebook for tickets.


Wednesday, April 9

Nature Time – The Muscatatuck Wildlife Society will host Nature Time at 9:30 a.m. April 9, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. There is a different topic each month, and the program is geared toward preschool-aged children. No registration required.

Kidsfest – Child Care Network will host its annual Kidsfest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12, at Seymour Middle School. There will be multiple vendors with activities as well as information for families.

Fire Truck Pull – Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host its Firetruck Pull fundraiser at noon, April 12, at Wal Mart Super Center, 1600 East Tipton Street, Seymour. Registration starts at 10 a.m., and teams are made up of 10 individuals. Each team needs to raise $500. Deadline to enter is March 31. Chill Out Day – Kona Ice will host Chill Out Day, No Taxation without Relaxation, from noon to 2 p.m. April 15, at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 North Broadway Street, Seymour. Those who stop by will get a free order of Kona Ice.

Open Mic Night – Brooklyn Pizza Company will host Open Mic Night at 6 p.m. April 15, at Harmony Park outside The Brooklyn Pizza Company & Seymour Brewing Company.

Celebrate Earth Day – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will host Celebrate Earth Day with programming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19, at the campground, 4345 South County Road 275W, Vallonia.

Tom Judd Memorial Egg-Stra Special Easter Egg Hunt  – The Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the fifth annual Tom Judd Memorial Egg-stra Special Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. April 19, at Emerson Elementary School, 500 Emerson Drive, Seymour. The hunt will begin at the playground at 10 a.m. for ages 0 to 12 years, while the hunt for those 13 and up will be at 10:30 a.m. There will be prizes, candy, and special guests. Those with special needs and their families are invited to participate.

Midwest Thunder 410 – Midwest Thunder 410 Non-Wing Sprints will begin at 6 p.m. April 19, at Brownstown Speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will include the Non-Wing Sprints, ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Hornets. Click here for information.

Wings Over Muscatatuck – The Muscatatuck Wildlife Society will host Wings Over Muscatatuck from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26, at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 East U.S. 50, Seymour. The event will include guided bird hikes, bird programming, and children’s activities including bird house making, water color painting, a cake walk, and more. There also will be food available for purchase as well as a silent auction.

Renaissance Faire – The Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire will host its Celtic Weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 26 & 27, at Swifty Farms, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. Click here for ticket information.

Corn Hole Tournament – St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers will host a cornhole tournament beginning at 9 a.m. March 1, at teh church, 10620 Waymansville Pike, Seymour.
