A Guide to Seymour Oktoberfest 2022
The Seymour Oktoberfest returns for its 49th year September 29-October 1 in downtown Seymour. Here’s your guide to the festival for information on entertainment, vendors, contests, parade, information – and of course – food. Prost!
The festival operates from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. September 29 through October 1; there are festival hours from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday September 28. The Shuttle will run from the intersection of Walnut and Second streets to Seymour High School beginning at 4 p.m. September 29 and 30, and then following the parade on October 1.
Official festival merchandise can be purchased from the Jackson County Sertoma Club or Seymour Noon Lions Club. There is an information booth that operates during the festival at the intersection of Second and Chestnut streets in the downtown.

Food booths are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, September 30 through Saturday, October 1. Non profit food booths are open from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 28.

Biergarten
The Seymour Oktoberfest Biergraten operates from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. September 29 through October 1. To purchase a drink, you must have a ticket. One ticket will get you one drink. It is $5 per ticket or five for $20.

Carnival
The carnival operates from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, and Thursday, September 29; 1 to 11 p.m. Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1
Bracelets are discounted at $20, $25 at Luehrs Ticket Booth, location: Corner of East Second Street and Indianapolis Avenue. Discounted ride bracelets for $20 can be purchased at Seymour City Hall, 209 North Chestnut Street, Seymour.
Parade
Start: 1:30 p.m., October 1, Location: North Walnut Street turn left onto North Walnut Street, end at Fifth Street. Sponsored by Schneck Medical Center.
Parade Marshals: Geraldine “Jerry” VonDielingen, worked 50 years at Seymour McDonald’s.

The Schulahus 4+3 Band will play from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, September 29 and Friday, September 30; and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. October 1. Friday’s entertainment will include a Chicken & polka Dance Contest with the Second Street Dancers.

Hot Air Balloons
Glow – The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Glow is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. September 29, at the corner of West Fifth and North Walnut streets (across from Redeemer Lutheran Church).
Race – The Hot Air Balloon Race is at 5:15 p.m. October 1 at the corner of West Fifth and North Walnut streets.
