Halloween Trivia – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Halloween Trivia at 6 p.m. October 24, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour. There will be bonus points for those who wear costumes or Halloween apparel.

Pioneer Dinner – The Jackson County History Pioneer Dinner will be at 6:45 p.m. October 26, at the Livery Barn, 105 North Sugar Street, Brownstown. The doors will open at 6 p.m. For tickets, call the center at 812-358-2118.


Friday, October 25

Seymour Smash – The Seymour Owls Tennis Parents Club will host its annual Seymour Smash Tennis Tournament on October 25, 26, & 27, at Seymour High School and Trinity Lutheran High School. Start times will be 5 p.m. 10/25, 9 a.m. 10/26, & 11 a.m. 10/27. The event is a fundraiser for the tennis program at Seymour High School.

Author Book Signing – The Magic of Books Bookstore will host a book signing featuring Daniel Humphreys from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. October 25, at the store, 115 East Second Street, Seymour.

Live music at the Jackson County Visitor Center – Seymour Crossroads Entertainment will host Will Kimbrough for a show from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. October 25, at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 North Broadway Street, Seymour. Christmas Bazaar – United Women in Faith will host a Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. October 26, at First United Methodist Church, 201 East Third Street, Seymour. The bazaar will feature arts, crafts, baked goods, and lunch.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 26. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

‘Holloween’ Spooktacular – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will host its annual ‘Holloween’ Spooktacular with activities from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. October 26, at the property in Vallonia. activities include 10 a.m. Grab & Ghost Crafts, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Trick or Treat (traffic stops at 3:30 p.m.), 6 p.m. campsite decorations winners, 7 p.m. Happy Haunts kid-friendly haunted house tour, and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Haunted House. Halloween Party – The Seymour Moose Lodge 418 will host a Halloween Party from noon to 2 p.m. October 26, at the lodge, 110 East Sixth Street, Seymour. There will be hot dogs, chips, sweet treats, and drinks. This is a members-only event. Sign ups will be at the bar.

Trunk or Treat – Seymour Christian Church will host its Trunk or Treat from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. October 26, at the church, 915 Kasting Road, Seymour.

Trunk or Treat – I Care Childcare will host its annual Trunk or Treat at 4 p.m. at the facility, 1112 North O’Brien Street, Seymour.

Movie Night – Seymour Noon Lions will host Family Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. October 26, at the Boys & Girls Club of Seymour. The first movie shown will be The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, followed by Hocus Pocus. Tickets are available at Seymour City Hall, Big O Tires of Seymour, Jackson County Public Library – Seymour, and the Jackson County Visitor Center.

Beat Cancer Soup-er Bowl – Phi Beta Psi Sorority will host the Beat Cancer with a Soup-er Bowl dinner and dessert auction from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. October 27, at the Knights of Columbus, 118 East Second Street, Seymour. Tickets are $15, and kids 12 and under are $10. All proceeds go to cancer research.

Trunk or Treat – First United Methodist Church will host a trunk or treat from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. October 27, at First United Methodist Church, 201 East Third Street, Seymour.
