Thursday, August 29

SICA Open Hours – The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will host its open hours from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. August 29, at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour.

Beth Schultz’s Kickin’ Cancer Fundraiser – The Beth Schultz’s Kickin’ Cancer Fundraiser will be held at 5:30 p.m. August 29, at Harmony Park outside the Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street, Seymour. The evening will include raffle items, 50/50 drawing, and more. All proceeds will go to Beth Schultz, who has started her fourth battle with cancer.

Trivia Night at Rails – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host Trivia Tournament of Champions Night at 6 p.m. August 29, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.


Friday, August 30

Live music at Rails – Kyle Schryer will play at 7 p.m. August 30, at Rails Craft Brew & Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Live music at Harmony Park – The Dwight Hendrix Experience will play at 7 p.m. August 30, at Harmony Park outside the Brooklyn Pizza Company, 753 West Second Street.

Live music at Brewskies Downtown – Honey White will play at 7:30 p.m. August 30, at Brewskies Downtown, 117 East Second Street, Seymour.


Saturday, August 31

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon August 31, in the Farmers Market Parking Lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Boomer Classic – The Boomer Classic will be held at 9 a.m. August 31, at Hickory Hills Golf Club, 1509 South State Road 135, Brownstown. Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a tee time at 9 a.m. Info: 812-899-0210.

Turtle Time – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will host Turtle Time at 11 a.m. August 31, in the Forest Education Center. Participants will get to meet all the turtles at the Forest Education Center.

Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. August 31. Appointments can be scheduled through the week by calling 812-271-1821.

Summer Fest – E Sounds Entertainment will host Summer Fest at 11 a.m. August 31, at the Seymour American Legion, 402 West Second Street, Seymour. The event will include vendors, raffles, giveaways, food, live music, games, raffles, and more. The music will start at 1 p.m. with Dirty Laundry, then the Eclectics, Tinzelkova, and the Battle of the Bands.

Woodsy The Owl – Starve Hollow State Recreation Area will introduce everyone to Woodsy the Owl at 1 p.m. August 31, in the Forest Education Center. Participants will get to see Woodsy up close and ask questions about the owl.

Race Night – The Brownstown Speedway race will start around 6 p.m. August 31, at the speedway, 476 East County Road 100S, Brownstown. The race will feature ILMS Pro Late Models, Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Hornets, and Crown Vics. Click here for tickets and more information.

Live music at The Thirsty Sportsman – Country Bourne will play at 9 p.m. August 31, at The Thirsty Sportsman, 205 North Armstrong Street, Crothersville.


Sunday, September 1

Circus Grimaldi – Swifty Farms & Events will host the Circus Grimaldi at 2 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. September 1, at the farm, 351 U.S. 31, Seymour. The performance will include jugglers, magic, clowns, aerialists, acrobats, and live music. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the gate. Click here for advance tickets.

Ribbon Cutting – A ribbon cutting for a new Pet Memorial Garden will be held at 11 a.m. September 2, at the Humane Society of Jackson County, 1109 G Avenue West, Seymour. The garden is part of a Girl Scout Gold Award by Macy Casner.


Tuesday, September 3

Craft Time – Moxie Coffee Company will host a free craft from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. September 3, at the coffee shop, 218 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. The theme for the month is Fall Fun.

Wednesday, September 4

Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon September 4, in the Farmers Market Parking Lot off Walnut Street in Seymour.

Bicycle Club – The Jackson County Bicycle Club will meet at 6 p.m. September 4, in the parking lot of Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street, Seymour. Visit the group’s Facebook group for all the details.
