One of Jackson County’s most well known traditions returns this week with the annual Grassy Fork Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Truck and Tractor Pulls. There’s also summer concert series live music, golf and more!
Thursday, June 16
SICA Art Camp – Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will host its art camp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13-16. It’s open to those who have completed Kindergarten through those who have completed Fifth Grade. Cost to attend is $100 per child for non-members and $80 per child for members. Each child will get a t-shirt. Daily schedule includes music, dance, painting, drawing, crafts, imagination station, free time to complete projects along with lunch and play. Each student will need to bring lunch and a refillable water bottle.
Grassy Fork VFD Truck & Tractor Pulls – The Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department Truck & Tractor Pulls will be at 6 p.m. June 16-18 at the department, 5384 South County Road 450E, Brownstown. The department will also have its famous fish fry.
Live music at Reed’s Place – Fred Elam will play from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reed’s Place Steak & Chop Shop, 224 South Chestnut Street.
Seymour City Jam – It’s Seymour Main Street’s Seymour City Jam will welcome Sweet Tea Trio at 6:30 p.m. at Crossroads Community Park in downtown Seymour. Food and drinks will begin at 6 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and don’t forget to visit the event sponsors for information and giveaways.
Friday, June 17
Jackson County Chamber Golf Tournament – The Jackson County Chamber’s annual golf tournament is scheduled for noon June 17, at Shadowood Golf Course. The tournament is full, but this is a reminder for those who have signed up.
SICA Art Club – Join the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts’ Art Club from 2 to 7 p.m. at the center, 2001 North Ewing Street, Seymour. Bring what you’ve been working on and enjoy the company of other artists.

Live music at Harmony Park – The 78’s will play at 7 p.m. at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour.
Live music at Rails – Soul Shine will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.
Live music at The Eagles – Dave Campbell will play at 7:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 122 East Second Street, Seymour.
Live music at On the Rox – Fred and Steve will perform at 8 p.m. on the patio at On the Rox, 214 South Broadway Street, Seymour.
Saturday, June 18
Seymour Area Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot in Seymour.
Guided Bird Walk – The Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge will host a Guided Bird Walk at 8 a.m. from the refuge visitor center.
Freeman Army Airfield Museum – The Freeman Army Airfield Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1035 A Avenue, Seymour. Be sure to check out this wonderful place that is open each Saturday!
Story Time with a Princess – The Magic of Books Bookstore will host Storytime with a Princess from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store, 113 West Second Street, Seymour. The event includes the story, a bag of fun princess goodies, and a special snack. $30 per child $15 per additional child and tickets can be purchased in store.
Michael D. Healy Memorial Golf Outing – The Michael D. Healy Memorial Golf OUting is at noon at Shadowood Golf Course. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at 1 a.m. It’s $80 per player or $320 per team. Email mdhmemorial@gma

BEMS Summer Concert Series – The Brownstown Ewing Main Street Summer Concert Series will kick off with Taylor Cromer at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park, 121 East Walnut Street, Brownstown. There will be food trucks and adult beverages available for purchase. Forrest Turner will open.
Live music at Rails – Margaret Brown will play at 7 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery, 114 St. Louis Avenue, Seymour.

Trivia night at Harmony Park – Patty Brothers Entertainment will host its summer trivia series at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Harmony Park at the Brooklyn Pizza Company 753 West Second Street, Seymour. The series is five straight weeks beginning May 31.

Wednesday Evening Rides – Join the Jackson County Bicycle Club for its Wednesday Evening Ride. The group will leave at 6 p.m. from Central Christian Church, 1434 West Second Street from the parking lot facing Westgate Road. This week’s ride is 5.5 miles. The group increases each week by a half mile until they reach 10-mile rides each week through October. Visit the Facebook group for updates and more information.
