Fort Vallonia Days Schedule of Events
One of Jackson County’s most cherished traditions will return October 16 and 17 with the 52nd Fort Vallonia Days Festival in Vallonia. Here’s a list of the schedule of events!
Plus, there will be about 30 food vendors, and so many of your favorite craft and flea market vendors that you can’t miss!
Friday, October 15
4 to 6 p.m.: Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Saturday, October 16
9 a.m.: Mick Gray Memorial Trail Ride (State Riding Permit Required) 812-216-2135.
9 a.m.: Wes Hartley Memorial Muzzle Loading Shoot
10 a.m.: Baby Contest (Gym). Registration begins at 9 a.m.
10:30 a.m.: Pumpkin Decorating Contest Winners announced.
11 a.m.: Stars and Stripes Cloggers (Pavilion).
Noon: Live music by U4IA (Pavilion).
1 p.m.: Parade
2 p.m.: Tomahawk & Knife Throw (Fort).
2 p.m.: Live music by U4IA (Pavilion).
3 p.m. Live music by Dane Darlage (Pavilion).
4 p.m.: Country Kickers – Western Dancing (Pavilion).
5 p.m.: Karaoke with Tee Jay Entertainment (Pavilion).
Sunday, October 17
10 a.m.: Community Church Service (Gym).
Noon: Sparkles & Spurs Country Western Dancers (Pavilion).
Noon: Team Cornhole Tournament (Fort). Registration begins at 11 a.m.
12:30 p.m.: Horseshoe Pitch (Fort). Registration begins at noon.
1 p.m.: Baking Contest (Gym).
1 p.m.: 5K Run/Walk. Registration begins at noon.
1:30 p.m.: Brownstown Central High School Show Choir (Pavilion).
3 p.m.: Classical Solo Guitar with Preston Carter (Pavilion).
4 p.m.: Drawings.
In addition to the great events, the Fort Vallonia Museum will be open and official festival merchandise can be purchased at the Joe Jackson Hotel. There also will be live demonstrations of model steam and gas engines, blacksmith, quilting, spinning, braiding rugs and more!
