School is back, but the fun is still happening all throughout Jackson County! This weekend is seriously packed with so many neat events. Be sure to take some time for fun to relieve that first week of school stress!

Thursday, August 5
Hoosier Scale Fly-In – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles will host the Hoosier Scale Fly-In from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Freeman Municipal Airport! The group flies replicas of full-sized aircrafts. Pilots and club members will be there to answer any questions. It’s free to attend. Jalapeno’s Grill Food Truck will be there.

Friday, August 6
Hoosier Scale Fly-In – The Southern Indiana Flying Eagles will host the Hoosier Scale Fly-In from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Freeman Municipal Airport! Concert in Brownstown – Jackson Snelling will perform during the Brownstown Ewing Main Street Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. at Heritage Park. Kenna Elpers will open and food from Jalapeno’s Grill and drinks will be available from Salt Creek Brewery.
Live Music at Rails – Cottonpatch will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.
Friday Night Live – Local duo Skyline Drive will perform at 7 p.m. at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts for Friday Night Live. Bring your coolers, chairs, and blankets for a fun night.
Live Music at Poplar Street – Retro Betty will play at 8 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant.
Live Music at On the Rox – Jerry Nenycz will perform at 8 p.m. at On the Rox.
Movie Night! – The Stardust Movie Series by the Jackson County Chamber continues with “Coco” at sundown at Crossroads Community Park. Bring blankets and chairs for a fun evening and concessions will be available.
Saturday, August 7
Golf Scramble – The 18th Lutheran Fellowship Golf Scramble is scheduled for Saturday at Shadowood Golf Course. All of the golf spots have been filled, but those who wish to support the cause can make a donation or stop by for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event benefits students at Immanuel Lutheran School.
Farmers Market – The Seymour Area Farmers Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the Walnut Street Parking Lot. It’s National Farmers Market Week, so be sure to stop by and support local farmers!

Benefit Ride – Help a family whose two-year-old son is battling leukemia through a motorcycle ride. The ride begins at First Baptist Church of Crothersville at noon, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. It’s $15 for a single rider, $20 per couple. There will be a meal, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and door prizes. Information: 812-793-2512.
Race – It’s the 17th Hall of Fame Classic at Brownstown Speedway. There’s $10,000 to win for Super Late Models, plus modifieds, super stocks and crown vics. Tickets: 603-501-0517.
Celebration of Larry Crane – Harmony Park will unveil a Larry Crane Mural and have a night of music featuring John Whitcomb, Kill’n Smalls and Seymour’s own Larry Crane. It all starts at 6 p.m. and is free.
Dinner on the bridge – The 10th annual Dinner on the Medora Covered Bridge is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets may still be available, so just call us here at the visitor center at 812-524-1914 and we will check for you!
Live Music at Brewskies Downtown – Steve Deweese will perform at 7 p.m. at Brewskies Downtown.
Live Music at Jackson Live – Joe Hampton Classic Country Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Jackson Live. Tickets are available by calling 812-521-1282.
Live Music at Rails – The Lonesome Troubadour will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rails Craft Brew and Eatery.
Bustock Returns! – Join WJAA Radio 96.3 for the annual Bustock celebration at Chateau de Pique Winery and Brewery! Find out who will win the Summer of Fun prizes and check out Jayne Bond and the Pink Martinis who will take stage at 8 p.m.!
Live Music at Poplar Street – Past Tense will play at 8 p.m. at Poplar Street Restaurant.
Live Music at Luke’s – Matt Trimnell will play at 8 p.m. at Luke’s Country Inn.
Karaoke – Join the American Legion Post 89 in Seymour from 8:30 p.m. to midnight for Karaoke!
