2023 Easter Egg Hunts in Jackson County
Easter is a fun time of the year! Here’s a list of all the Easter Egg Hunts going on in 2023! If your church, business, or organization has an event not listed, please email Jordan Richart at jordan@jacksoncountyin.com to have it added.
Saturday, April 1
Trinity United Methodist Church – 10 a.m., at the church, 333 South Chestnut Street, Seymour. Children up to age 12 welcome. Also the church will host Journey to the Cross from 4 to 6 p.m. April 2, which will feature multiple stations to learn about the season. For more information, call the church at 812-523-3072.
Crothersville VFW – 10 a.m., April 1, at Veteran’s Park in Crothersville. The hunt is open to those up to 12 years old.
Brownstown First Baptist Church – 11 a.m., April 1, at the church, 1095 State Road 135, Brownstown. Babies through sixth grade are welcome to hunt eggs with prize baskets awarded in each age group. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.
Cerro Wire – Noon, April 1 & 8, at the plant, 1002 Industrial Way, Crothersville. The hunt will begin at 12:15 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.
Taco Bell – 2 p.m., at the field behind Taco Bell, 2017 Outlet Blvd., Seymour. There will be more than 3,000 filled eggs, Taco Bell prizes, candy and photos with the Easter bunny. Kids also can enter the Easter basket drawing. Winners will be announced at the hunt. Infant-14.
Central Christian Church – 3 to 5 p.m., April 1, Easeter Eggstravaganza, at the church, 1434 W. Second St., Seymour. There will be games, inflatables, an egg hunt, prizes and more. There also will be a bicycle giveaway, and you must be registered and present to win. Register online at centralseymour.org.
Saturday, April 8
Seymour Community Easter Egg Hunt – 9 a.m. photo time with Easter Bunny, 10 a.m. Egg Hunt starts, at Gaiser Park in Seymour. Organized by 92.7 WXKU, 99.2 WZZB, Seymour Parks and Recreation Department, and Rose Acre Farms. There will be four age groups for children 0-12. Bring your own basket.
Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County Easter Egg Hunt – 10 a.m., April 8, at Emerson Elementary School. Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County will host the Tom Judd Memorial Egg-stra Special Easter Egg Hunt for individuals with special needs. Ages 18 and younger will have the hunt at 10 a.m. while an adult egg hunt will start at 10:30 a.m.
Hoosier Christian Village – 10 a.m., April 8, at the facility, 601 South Sugar Street, Brownstown.
Jackson Masonic Lodge 146 – 10 a.m., April 8, at Jackson Masonic Lodge 146, 1818 N. Ewing St., Seymour. Hot dogs, chips and drinks also will be served.
Reddington Christian Church – 10 a.m., April 8, at the church, 10516 U.S. 31, Seymour.
First Baptist Church of Seymour – 10 a.m., April 8, at the church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour. The event includes music, the Easter story, photos with the Easter Bunny, door prizes, and refreshments. Bring your own basket. The Gospel will be shared in English and Spanish at the hunt
Jackson County Sheriff’s Department – 11 a.m., April 8, at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, off State Road 250 in Brownstown. 8,000 eggs filled with prizes. Ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. Easter Bunny will make an appearance.
Kurtz Church of the Nazarene – 11 a.m., April 8, at the church. There also will be an appearance by the Easter Bunny and a sack lunch.
Community Church Brownstown – 12 p.m., April 8, at the Jackson-Washington State Forest off State Road 250 in Brownstown. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks as well. Follow signs to the museum shelter house across from the lake.
Freetown Church of Christ – 12 p.m., April 8, at the church, 7077 North State Road 135, Freetown. The day will start with lunch at noon, then the hunt at 12:30 p.m. Lunch is free and open to the public. The hunt is for children infant-fifth grade. Information: 812-497-2971.

Medora Masonic Lodge – Noon, April 8, at the Medora Masonic Lodge 328, 95 N. Jackson St., Medora. Arrive early to register for prizes. There will be a drawing for bicycles, and 100 eggs will have a dollar coin enclosed. Hot dog, chips and a drink will be available for a $3 donation.
Seymour Christian Church – 1 p.m., April 8, at the church, 915 Kasting Road, Seymour.
Freedom Fireworks Easter Egg Hunt – 2 p.m., April 8, on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown. Age groups for 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12. There will be 20,000 eggs filled with candy and toys. There will be a drawing for bicycles for a boy and girl in each age group. There also will be more than 100 prizes to giveaway. Arrive early to register. Rain make up day: April 15.

Immanuel Lutheran Church – Between the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services at the church, 605 South Walnut Street, Seymour.
