Bridges of Jackson County, Indiana
The county's covered bridges were built in the mid to late 1800s and our round barns were built in the early 1900s. Covered bridges include the Medora Bridge, the longest 3-span covered bridge in the United States and the Shieldstown Bridge, considered to be the most scenic in the area. Check out the two round barns southwest of Brownstown. The Stuckwish Round Barn is located off of State Road 235 and was constructed for a cost of $1,500. The Hall Round Barn is 72 feet in diameter and has no central silo. The barn is located in Medora on private property. Call the Jackson County Visitor Center for information about the Self-Guided Agricultural Tour and other personalized tours that can be arranged of beautiful Jackson County.
