CampIn Central Reservation System will allow people to make reservations at select state sights up to six months to the date at their favorite location. One of our cultural
attractions is the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts (pictured
left). This working art center offers a continuing variety of cultural
and educational programs. It also hosts culinary & wine classes,
art camp and a series of lectures on numerous subjects. |

The Chateau de' Pique Winery is a restored barn that serves as a reception area, and the wine tasting room on the property and can seat up to 126 people. A large outdoor patio area is available and the upstairs of the barn offers a chapel which can be used for small wedding ceremonies and services. Also on the nearly 80 acres, located at 6361 North County Road 760 East, is a large tent which can seat nearly 400 people for wedding receptions, parties, and gatherings. http://www.chateaudepique.com. |

Twisted Crew Brewing Company offers six beers on tap and two seasonal beers. Visitors to the Twisted Crew Brewing Company at 755 W. Second Street, can sample beers on tap and buy a “growler,” which is a half gallon glass container to take home with them. When the growler is empty, customers can return it for a new one at a discounted price. Empty pint containers, t-shirts and koozies are also sold at the brewery.
Current hours are Friday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Search for the Twisted Crew on Facebook, stop by Second Street and try a sample or call 812-519-BEER for more information.

Tour our small town museums for a glimpse of Southern Indiana history. The Vallonia Museum features agricultural and pioneer history and includes a replica of the old trading Fort Vallonia. The Jackson County Historical Museum in Brownstown exhibits rare newspapers, uniforms, and information about county residents. The Jackson County History Center has a pioneer village on the property as well as a unique Revolutionary War Monument dedicated to the 34 veterans who are buried in Jackson County. The Freeman Airfield Museum is located at Freeman Field in Seymour. Dedicated to preserving the history of the men and women who served at the field during WWII, the museum has uniforms, artifacts, photographs, and parts of European airplanes. The Freeman Airfield once housed pilots undergoing advanced pilot training and also the famed Tuskegee Airmen.

The Jackson County Genealogical Society hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; first and third Saturday of each
month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Jackson County History Center hours are Tuesday Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
