Jackson County has two library systems that benefit all county residents. Seymour has a Carnegie library that was renovated in 2005, Crothersville and Medora both have library branches built in the early 1990's, and Brownstown is served by its own library that celebrated 100 years of service in 2010. Both systems were pilot libraries of Evergreen Indiana in 2008, so materials are available for loan from many participating libraries throughout the state. All libraries offer free wi-fi Internet access and provide programs and access to numerous types of materials and online databases. The Discovery Bus is a bookmobile that travels throughout the county Monday-Thursday on a bi-weekly schedule.
For local organizations see the Seymour.org
web site.
